History

The SLUSHPUPPIES were formed in 1992 and quickly began electrifying audiences from Cape Cod to Vermont, in and around Boston, MA. Cutting its teeth in the college towns of Salem and Lowell, MA, the SLUSHPUPPIES earned a name for themselves locally as a fun-loving, entertaining group that could, with equal skill and ease, execute contemporary modern rock, classic popular favorites, and dance-rock. With this new found popularity, the band racked up 220 performances in its first full year as a band.

The pace didn’t slow from there, with the band stepping up from small clubs and pubs to land shows at the area’s biggest showcase clubs such as the Town Line Lounge in Malden, MA, the L. A. Ballroom in Lowell, MA, Bleachers (upstairs) in Salem, MA, The Tent at Marina Bay, Quincy, MA, the Industry Complex (Purgatory) in Manchester, NH, and the Casino-by-the-Sea in Falmouth, MA to name just a few. The SLUSHPUPPIES were so adept at packing nightclubs that Miller Genuine Draft struck a deal to provide the band with promotional and marketing materials such as radio spots, Boston Phoenix advertisements, T-shirts, bumper stickers, etc.

The SLUSHPUPPIES still remain very active as a quality performing outfit and can seen at venues in the Greater Boston area. We hope that you'll take the time to enjoy the band at a nightclub near you.
